Our inspection covers the gas supply line, shutoff valve, regulator pressure, pilot and burner assembly, thermocouple or thermopile output, ignition control board, blower (if equipped), glass front gasket, vent or chimney for blockage, and a carbon monoxide reading at the unit. We clean the burner ports, vacuum out spider webs and debris (the most common cause of pilot failure), and confirm the millivolt output is in spec. You get a written report with photos and any safety concerns clearly flagged.

Gas fireplace inspections themselves do not carry tax credits. If your inspection turns up a unit at end of life and you replace it with a high-efficiency direct-vent gas insert, some manufacturer rebates may apply through Heat and Glo, Mendota, or Napoleon dealer programs.
